14–16 km of clear, fast river in Karangasem, with a waterfall stop and a four-metre dam drop. No stairs at the start or the finish, and lunch is waiting when you get out.
The Telaga Waja runs through Muncan in Karangasem, about two hours from Kuta, past rice terraces, cliffs and waterfalls. The water is clear, the rapids range from Grade III to Grade IV, and the route is the longest rafting run on the island.
What guests notice first is how easy it is to get on the river. Our start point and our finish point both sit close to the water, so there is no long staircase to walk down before the trip or climb back up afterwards.
Six parts, in the order they happen.

Arrive at our start point in Muncan, collect your helmet, life jacket and paddle, and listen to the safety briefing. The river is right there: no long staircase down to the water.

The Telaga Waja is clear, cold and quick. Your guide steers from the back and calls the paddle commands while the raft runs one rapid after another through the jungle.

Partway down, the rafts pull in below a waterfall. Climb out, stand under the spray, take photos and catch your breath before the second half.

The part everyone remembers. The raft tips over the edge of a dam and slides about four metres down. Your guide tells you exactly how to sit and where to hold on.

At the finish point you step off the raft close to the restaurant, again without a climb. Towels, showers and changing rooms are waiting.

We serve a buffet of Indonesian food before you head back. Extra drinks are available to buy.
You meet us at the start point in Muncan. Prices are in Indonesian rupiah and you can pay by card, PayPal or QRIS.

90 guests have reviewed Telaga Waja Adventures on Google. The things they mention most are the guides, who keep an eye on everyone and make the trip fun, the scenery between the rapids, and the lunch and dry towels at the end.
Families, groups of friends and first-time rafters are all among them.
The start point is in Muncan, in the Selat district of Karangasem, East Bali.
Drive times depend on traffic. Need a car from your hotel? Ask us on WhatsApp.
The rapids are Grade III to IV, which is livelier than the Ayung River near Ubud. You do not need rafting experience: a guide sits in every raft, steers, and tells you when to paddle. You should be comfortable getting wet and holding on through fast water.
The run is 14 to 16 km and takes roughly 2 to 2.5 hours on the water. Allow extra time for check-in, the safety briefing, a shower and lunch.
No. Both our start point and our finish point are close to the river, so you do not walk down or up a long staircase the way you do on some other Bali rafting routes.
Families raft with us regularly, but whether a child can join depends on their age and the water level on the day. Send us the ages of your children on WhatsApp before you book and we will tell you honestly.
